How low can you go?

While it is understandable the sting from the NYPD dumping Windows Phone as their tool of choice still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Especially when the person behind choosing to go with Windows Phone basically admitted she did it because Microsoft footed the entire bill. So one of the largest agencies in the country chooses Windows Mobile basically because it was free and yet they still move on to greener pastures because of Microsoft inability to deliver a decent phone along with finally admitting they are backing out of the smartphone business for now. I guess it's true you can't buy love.

I don't fault Microsoft for leaving the smartphone world sales were nonexistent at best. However, I always felt they needed a presence in that world just to keep everyone who was on board happy with enough kool-aid to keep them from realizing the boat was sinking. But no not Microsoft they grabbed the bullhorn and told everyone to abandon ship.

Guess what the people listen and not only are they chucking their Windows Phones into the fire they are tossing a few more Microsoft products into the flame as well.

Delta Airlines who bravely outfitted their flight attendants and pilots with Windows Phones have not only decided to ground Windows Phone in favor of the iPhone. They have decided to ditch Surface devices in favor of the iPad Pro.

I wonder did Microsoft see this coming. By killing off their all but dead phones would deliver a few deadly blows to their very vibrant Surface line. They seem to be reluctant in grasping the concept that most people want all their devices to be the same or highly compatible. Plus every company is going to push their entire line. Which is, part of the reason Google is launching the Pixelbook.

In a service field workers dealing directly with the public don't need to be hopping from an iOS device to a Windows device and so forth. Much easier and practical to stay within one system. Microsoft needs to cozy up with Samsung and makes sure it's software can deliver a top-notch performance on Samsung Dex which turns your Samsung phone into a PC.

Maybe they could even develop a lightweight tablet ie. A Galaxy Tab that runs Windows 10 even better 10s.
