Samsung deserves a little credit for doing the right thing and delaying the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold which was plagued by more than a few issues with some of the devices released to “influencers” and reviewers.

Side note: I was initially a Windows Phone user, but after seeing the writing on the wall that Windows Phone days were numbered I decided to look for a new home. This was around the release of the Samsung S8, and I watched the keynote where Samsung not only apologized for the Note 7 debacle but owned it with full responsibility. It was at this point that I gave the Samsung S8+ a try and haven't look back.

This brings me to the topic at hand. Samsung deserves a little credit for postponing the release of the Galaxy Fold and avoid a full-fledged disaster on their hands.

Side note: Be cautious of 1st Gen tech.

I genuinely hope Samsung goes back to the drawing board some with the Galaxy Fold and for all our sakes Samsung should lend out the device to normal people and not “influencers” and reviewers before letting the device hit the market.
That way the device can be run through the paces of what it will experience during a typical day. And the group should be a diverse group of people who understand tech and those don't. Single, married, families, young and old.

This may take a little longer but why rush the Galaxy Fold to market?

While so much time was spent highlighting the Fold's hardware issues the software issues sled by the wayside. Android struggles in a large screen environment and maybe Android Q will bring a few improvements.
